We have a few machines networked up, instead of giong to "connect to server and browsing for the user, is there a way u can setup a shortcut on the desktop leading to the persons drive, and whenever their machine is on all you have to do is click on your shortcut.
 
Yes, there is: once you have a connection, simply ctrl+click the desired folder or volume and make an alias. Move the alias to the desktop or the finder bar and you don't need to connect to server -> browse...

By the way, same like the previous thread: wrong forum ;)
 
Create a folder on your drive and put the aliases in that and drag the folder to your Dock. Then Control or Right click the folder to mount the drive you want.
 
This works really well. I'm the only Mac on a M$ Windoze network and it works like a charm. Follow bob's advice. It's killer!
