Maya 7 textures messed up following OS update (MacBook Pro)

Hi,

I am running 10.4.8 on a MacBook Pro and earlier this week I went ahead and installed two updates suggested by the "Software Update" panel:

Mac OS X Update Combined (Intel) (10.4.8)
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update (1.2)

After doing this, my copy of Maya 7 no longer works correctly. The strangest thing has happened: all the textures are skewed along the horizontal axis (as if the texture was placed from u=-.5 to u=.5 instead of u=0 to u=1.

I can't explain it and, since Alias/Autodesk doesn't officially support their software on Intel-based computers, it seems I've lost my $7,000 3D program.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but to no avail. I know for sure that the copy of Maya is entirely fresh because my preferences/customizations are all gone but it is still unable to display textures correctly.

Interestingly enough, Quicktime also lost some of its capabilities after the OS update and I was able to fix it by reinstalling QT.

Any other ideas for fixing Maya?

Thanks...

Okay,

So in fooling around some more with Maya, I realized that the problem disappears if I turn on "high quality" rendering in the viewport. And the viewport handles texture using hardware. Thus, the problem must lie in some way with the "low quality" hardware texture rendering, which I think was somehow changed with the OS update.

Now, I don't always want to have the slow "high quality" option turned on (nor do I like the way its rendering looks) so I am still searching for a solution...

Can anyone comment with advice on how to proceed? Does anyone think that reinstalling OpenGL drivers or drivers for the ATI graphics board might help?

Thanks again...
