Since upgrading to Tiger, Safari has slowed to a crawl on some sites. I suspect the problem is the proxy server. I put the same laptop on both our internal network (connecting to the internet via our proxy server) and an external dsl line. The external connection flew, the internal proxy connection was very slow on many sites, including Apple's home page.
I set up a meeting with the proxy admin and am not entirely sure how to approach suggesting how to make the proxy more mac-friendly. I have an extra Xserver and have considered giving it to him for a proxy server for mac users. Is it possible to configure an Xserver to be a proxy?
