Microsoft Excel Web Query

When I create a new web query in TextEdit, it is not "openable" in Excel as a Saved Query. Do you have any idea why? I'd appreciate any help at all. I seem to recall it working with previous OS's, so that's how I ended up with the category of Mac OS X - Opearting System 10.4.x

Well - did you ever get any answers to these questions? I am trying to do some web queries and am running into trouble.
