Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 problem

I'm having a problem with all my Microsoft for Mac programs. All of them (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/etc) when I go to start them the Program begins to run then suddenly pops up and says it has encountered a problem and needs to close and asks to send an error report or not. I tried a few of the suggestions on the Microsoft support page and now when I go to open any of the programs a new error messages pops up and says "The application (Microsoft whatever program) quit unexpectedly." and says to relaunch or report and relaunching does nothing.

Can anyone help with this or should I just reinstall?
 
Th old trick of writing down the code that came with the program and then go to to the folder /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and find the Preferences for the program and drag those files to the desktop. Then relaunch Microsoft Office and see if it crashes. If it still does then you can put those back in the same place. If deleting those files work you might would have to put the program key back into Microsoft office.
