It's decent...
Depending on your type of connection between your Mac and the Windows PC (2K Server and XP work). But it's better than anything else I've tried.

Setup? Drag into your Applications folder and double-click it. Enter the address, username and password.

RDC works very fine indeed. I'm using it all the time, as I need the 17" TFT for my Mac. ;-) Faster than using VNC, although VNC of course is cross-platform, which makes it better for some cases (for example if you have a Mac, a linux and a Windows box and want to be able to control all of them from any of them).

depending on the speed of your windows machine...it's way faster than VPC..due to the fact that there is less overhead..and it's just a VNC connection :) I use it often and it actually works pretty flawlessy, even over my wireless connection.

I've used and it seems to work pretty well for me. I keep it handy in my applications folder just incase I ever have need of it.

VNC, on a local network, is very fast. Over the net, it's like watching grass grow.

I have found the latest version of VNC to be very fast over the internet. I have 80KBytes upload though so that might be why.

OSXVNC 1.32 for the server on my Mac and VNC Viewer 4.0b on my PC at work. I think that the version of OSXVNC is compatible with the new protocol they are using in 4.0b for PC, which seems a lot faster than the older one.

At work using the older protocol it seems slower going to a Win2000 Server over the network than it is over the internet using the new protocol.

can someone explain what VNC is? also, are y'all connecting via wireless (802.11) or through ethernet cables?

VNC is a program that you can use to control another machine, either on a local network, or across the internet.
