Hey Gang. Just got a deal an eMac 1.42; when it arrives, would like install Leopard and transfer my User folder over from my Bondi iMac G3 (iForced to 500 MHz G4, running Tiger). Problem is, the older machine doesn't have firewire; without buying a new HD FW enclosure, is there a way accomplish the task over ethernet using Migration/Setup Assistant-- or would that require Mac OS X Server?
The alternative would be to use file sharing, but I'm not confident that everything in the folder can be transfered that way. Vaguely remember having had a little snafu with CCC when trying to duplicate to a partition on the iMac.
Ideally, I'd like to partition the eMac so I can boot up from either 10.4 or 10.5, as a lot of the third party utilities I've got running on the iMac have not been updated for Leopard, and some may never be.
