Migration Assistant Questions

Hello all,

I am a newbie in this forum, and this is my first post. The issue I would like to ask some things about, is the Migration Assistant. More specifically, could someone please tell me:

1. Does the M.A. migrate completely everything during a migration, or are there things (e.g. stored passwords, etc.) that have to be transferred manually?
2. The two Macs can be of any kind, or there are limitations in hardware compatibility for migration? For example, can one migrate from a MacBook to a Mac Pro?
3. In a typical migration, how long does the process take? (I understand that the variations can be big, so I am asking for an indicative range, e.g. 15-45 mins, 1-2 hrs. etc.).

Have you read Apple's support document about Migration Assistant?

All of your data will be transferred. Stored passwords, e.g., are stored in your keychain, which is in your Library, so they're included. I think there's a way to customize what else migrates. Any OS X Mac will do as long as it either has Migration Assistant or can be started in FireWire Target Disk Mode. I would allow 1–2 hours.
