Mini Mac 1.3 Model A1176

I bought a mini mac 1.83 model A1176 off a friend, wiped off friend's files, inserted new password. I now have a black screen with grey writing as follows:
/epc/master.passwrd: no such file directory sh 2.05b iobluetoothhcicontroller:: start idle timer stop

Can anyone tell me what has happened and how can I rectify this please?

Can you explain in detail exactly how you went about wiping off your friend's files, and how you "inserted new password?"

And welcome on the boards!

Did your friend include also the installation discs that came with that Mac? Those are good to have not only for complete or partial system reinstalls, but also for maintenance or emergency reasons. Such as a lost password, system repairs...
I would usually go with a clean system install on any Mac that I start to use. It takes less than an hour and will ensure that everything is fresh and working.

However, Jeff's questions are valid too - how did you do those deletions and set the new password?

thank you for reply. went into system preferences, changed user name and master pw (put in friends pw and inserted new one for me). it changed everything over ok. switched off and then switched on again when the message came up on the screen.
I deleted her pictures as friend requested and uninstalled unecessary programmes not wanted. Next problem is friend cannot find the installation discs!
