'Missing' Files

First off, sorry if this is in the incorrect spot.

I was downloading a game off of a disk when it stopped in the middle of the download. I had to quit it and try it again, only it stopped in the middle of the download again.

I tried searching for the files that should be there but I can't seem to find any new files or anything of the like but there is something taking up about 4 gigs of memory on my laptop now and I can't find it to erase it.

Well if you are running 10.6 or 10.7 then just look in /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Downloads/. It should be there.
 
It was from a disk so it selected the destination as the applications folder. There aren't any files for it there though, at least none that I can see.
