is there a way to make mozilla open a new tab instead of a new window when another app opens a page?

Chimera has a preference that reads: "Open new tab instead of new window"(or something like that)...can't imagine Mozilla not having that...

Mozilla sort of has it, at least in the 1.1a builds. There's a pref to open a tab instead of a window, but it's only available in a contextual menu or doing a command-click of an address in the location bar. No way to make it default behavior that I can see.
