Monitor Monthly throughput on ADSL/DSL

I have scoured the net for a small program that can monitor the monthly throughput of a DSL/ADSL like connection (ethernet en0). If i go over my monthly limit of 400Mb i get charged at huge rates for each additional Mb.

I dont know about anyone else but this seems to be a good idea

If anyone knows if such a program exists or is willing to develop one tell me!!

Since this seems to be an issue for many people, and my DSL provider is rumoured to start capping (unless you switch to their long distance service... )I might try my hand at developing one.

You might also check out ntop and see if that will work. MacOSX comes with tcpdump also, but I'm not sure if this will help.
