WHen I add the Motorola in Bluetooth, the Adress Book check button is greyed out. It works to sync adresses but the very necessary bluetooth SMS and Calling function does not work in Adress Book. Any suggestions?

I have a V3 and tried to send an SMS via address book as I used to do with my SE K700i but as you said the option is greyed out. I went into the bluetooth pane in sys prefs and looked at the device services of each phone.

SE K700i Device Services: HF Voice Gateway, Dial-up Networking, OBEX SyncML Client, HS Voice Gateway, Serial Port, Serial Port 2, OBEX Object Push, OBEX IrMC Sync Server, Mouse & Keyboard, OBEX Basic Imaging, OBEX File Transfer.

Razr V3 Device Services: Voice Gateway, Hands-Free voice gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX file transfer, Dial-up networking Gateway.

So my theory, looking at the different sevices available is that the V3 doesn't support SMS and Calling function.

The V3 does support SMS and call functions, you just can't do it using iSync or the address book which is a major pain. I've been vowing and declaring that i'm going to tell everyone about this! Firstly, the solution I found was a shareware app. called Blue Phone Elite (http://www.reelintelligence.com/BluePhoneElite/) and it works with the V3 giving you the same functionality (and a few more bits) that you would normally have. Having said that, I still can't get it to work with my Palm T3. Motorola's tech support are useless and they just suggest you buy the Rockstr one when that comes out.

The other interesting bit, though, is that the black (as opposed to silver) V3 does not have ANY issues at all with the Mac! Saw a thing on the Sydney Morning Herald website promoting the V3 and it's attributes, sent in a reply in mentioning the problems I've had and found out that the guy doing the review is a Mac user, running Tiger, and has had no issues at all getting the V3 to use iSync and all the rest of it. Still, it leaves those of us with the silver one high and dry.

Hope this helps. The Blue Phone Elite software saved me from throwing this phone out the window!
