Mount network shared from Boot CD Single user mode?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to boot from a boot CD (i.e. the Tiger installation disk) in single user mode and mount network shares (or mount anything for that matter)?

I have tried doing it using "mount" but since the filesystem is read-only when you boot from CD, I can't create a mount point for the network share.
