I was trying to eject my zip disk by doing the apple-E keycombo, but in my hastiness I did not realize that my external firewire HD was selected, and by doing apple-E I unmounted it :p

I got it to remount by unplugging the cable and re-pluging it, however I was wondering if there is an easier way to remount my unmounted HD (something that doesnt invilve getting to teh back of my computer preferably :p)

maybe im not understanding, but i just turn it off at the back using the on/off switch, then turn it back on. it re-mounts that way

yea, if your firewire drive has a power button you can just turn it off and back on. if not, it's plug and unplug as far as i know. one of mine has a power button and the other doesn't. i would just turn the one with the button off most of the time if it weren't for the fact that i use it for my swap files.

Hope that helps A.K.:)

You can also open up the apple disk utility (used to partition disks) there is an option in the menu's that will allow you to mount a partition.

I believe the key combo is command + M but I'm not sure
