mounting linux partitions

After breaking my linuxppc setup again (by foolishly upgrading to Linuxppc's halloween upgrade) I have decided to call it quits (for a while) and hope MacOS X can do what I need. So with that I would like to know if it is possible to mount the linux partitions under OS X to reformat them and get back that disk space back. I have tried everything I can think of and it won't let me do it. Does anyone know if I can do that or do I have to repartition the whole drive?

Use pdisk that came white linuxppc, delete the linux partitions and create a new one, and when pdisk ask for what type just copy the the type from a hfs+ partition. Save partionen table and reboot. Then should macosx recognise it and ask if you want to format it.
