Move to iCloud

After upgrading my iMac to Lion, the iCloud System Preferences pane presents me with a button "Move to iCloud". If I click it, what happens on my G4 laptop that can't be upgraded beyond 10.5.8? I travel with it and want to continue to be able to access mail, etc.

According this the Apple iCloud Upgrade Discussion it doesn't look possible from a PPC Mac. You will need the last 10.6.x operating system and that is Intel chip only.

I made the move. On the laptop, it's OK with me to login to iCloud through Safari.

I made the move a few days ago, one of the systems I still use is a G4 Cube running 10.4.11 and Apple Mail handles my .mac emails just fine.
Although I can log into and use the web interface, I much prefer to use the regular Mail application and was glad to see it continues to work.
