Moved replaced lost anyone help

Hello to everyone,

It's my first time writing in that forum and also my first time in mac osx.
I tried to move some files from the boot disc to an external and
after a while poped up a message saying it couldn't complete the transfer
and stopped. I moved once again the rest of the files and when prompted
to replace I choose YES (very bad move). After that the files that were moved in the first place got lost.
IS THERE ANY POSSIBLE WAY FIND THOSE FILES???????

Not without data recovery software. Once the files are overwritten/moved/deleted, they're gone.

Might wanna give "Data Rescue" a try, available from versiontracker.com.

If that doesn't work, and the data is important, you can try a pricey data recovery service like drivesavers.com.
 
I have already try that and another software called virtualdub but with no success I believe I 'm doomed.
