Moving Homedirectories On Mac X Serve

I have a Mac G4 X Serve, it is connected as a child to another Mac X Serve located on the other side of my university's campus. When I purchased the server it only had one hard disk drive, so all of my university's students homedirectories with the OS are on a single drive. I have since installed two 250 GB drives which I have used RAID to mirror together. My question is what is the best way to move the homedirectories from Drive 1 to the RAID drives, (2 and 3)? I do have carbon copy cloner. I can move the files to the new drives and then delete them from the original drive, but will the parent server to recognize where the homedirectories are now located?
