MP3 Full Screen Player

Hi,

Mac Newbie here.

I've been using Windows XP Media Center for a while and was wondering if there was an equivalent full screen mp3 player for MacOSx? I'd like to run my mac mini on the tv, but need an mp3 player that is optimised for full screen telly?

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

Mark

Hi markfc and welcome to the forum.
I suppose you are talking about the visualizer for mp3s that you want to run in full screen mode. Since you are using a mac mini I also suppose you are on panther. Then it's simple. Open itunes, load your playlist and press the key combination: Apple+T
Now your visualizer is on and pressing Apple+F will make it fullscreen.
Enjoy!

Ohhh, I was reading your post again and thought you might not be talking about the visualizer but about the player only. So, you need something that is kinda readable on tv and fullscreen? Why not reduce the resolution for the tv output and simply resize itunes?

This is an awfully hacky "solution", but it might be worth trying:

Open System Preferences, and select Universal Access. Under the "Seeing" tab, turn on zoom (it might already be on, actually). Click the Zoom Options button, and change the bottom option to "Only when the pointer reaches an edge".

Now, using the keyboard controls shown in the Seeing tab, you can enlarge your entire screen, and scroll around it by moving the mouse. This way you can set up just about any portion of your screen so that it fills the whole screen.

Again it's not a very elegant solution, but it might be just what you're after. Hope this helps.
