whenever i try to delete something, entourage shuts down. i absolutely dont know why...
i have ms office vx with osx 10.2.2 running.
office is already new installed, but when i click on the deleted files-folder, i just see some gray lines and entourage shuts down.
dont blame me for using ms...
has anyone ever seen this problem?
can anyone help?

Hmmm... Did you install the office update patch for OS X?

the 10.1.2 update? yes i did.
and there begun the second problem: the update tried to update office vx on office vx (i thought, this update would be just like a patch. i was wrong...) and there was no way for me to stop it. whenever i statred an office application, this update started. at least i installed office 2001 und let the "update update". but i still have this problem with the deleted-folder...
any ideas what i can do?

At this point I have no idea... I got my Mac... everything was Fresh installed... I installed Office X... and it's worked fine...

the same with me. until yesterday...
well, thanks for your support.
i think i am going to install the whole system once again.
btw: osx sometimes remembers me of using suse linux 5.x - something like that...

make sure you reformat your drive maybe that's part of the problem... of course back it all up... :)

You can try and rebuild the Entourage database.
One of these key combinations should do it(I don't recall the exact keys)
CMD+Option
CMD+Shift+Option
or something close to that.

Hold those keys down when you're starting Entourage, and it'll ask you if you want to rebuild it's database.

Thank God for Mac moderator's who know what they are doing! :D

I've only had to do it once, and I'm not at my Mac right now to check which keys to use. It won't screw anything up if you don't press the right keys though.

I found out just by trial and error the first time anyways :p

I didn't mean anything bad by that last comment... Honest... I am new to Mac... and in old Windows the best thing to do was to delete and reinstall not rebuild... so when I heard you say rebuild I was like WOW... Man... It can rebuild itself??? Awesome etc.

I know ;)

It's actually Entourage that has that feature built in to it.

But, 10.2.2 has a Journaling file system now, so after a bad crash, the Mac CAN rebuild itself!:D
