msn messenger 4 probs

new to macosx, i installed the latest version of MSN messenger 4 and got it running after the download. since i had restarted my computer, when i connect to the internet and then click on the MSN icon i put in the dock, it wont load and a question mark pops over the picture.
How can I get MSN working everytime i connect to the internet?
 
Download a fresh package.

Better yet dump msn and use adium or fire or proteus. All are multiprotocol programs that work with msn.

oops - the question mark means you probably ran it off a disk image which is no longer mounted. You have to mount the disk image (double click on the .img file) and then drag the program to the application to the applications folder on your hard drive.

Still, try the above programs - you can find them at macupdate.com

Adium solved several problems, *plus*, you get a multi-protocol chat client that can handle *all* the popular protocols in use.
 
Adium has an annoying feature. You can only really use it with one MSN account at a time. With the MSN client from Microsoft you input your login info each time you login which is good to me because there are 3 people in my house that use it.

With Adium, you enter your account information and it's stored there permanantly so anyone could log into your account whenever they want.
