MSN Messenger Icon Won't Bounce

Hi. This is my first time posting. I have a weird problem. I have been using MSN messenger for a long time. The Messenger icon in the dock is supposed to bounce when you get a new message, but suddenly, mine stopped bouncing. I never realized how important the bouncing was until it was gone. Other icons bounce. My Entourage icon, for example, bounces just fine when I get new mail. I've checked and rechecked the settings both in the system Preferences and in the application's preferences, but nothing works. I've downloaded Messenger again and it still refuses to bounce.

I'm running Tiger on a 12" iBook G4, using Messenger version 5.0. If there's anybody out there who can help me, I would appreciate it very much.

Check your preferences, there's an option in there.

Also check out Adium X, it's a great and more stable alternative to Microsoft Messenger.

Yes, I've checked and re-checked my preferences a million times. I think I said so in my original post. Nothing happens. That's why I'm so frustrated. I think there's a flaw in the program, and I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem.

Have you tried deleting Messenger's preferences (~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Messenger.plist)?
