MSN Messenger issues: continously disconnecting

I'm having a problem with MSN Messenger, I'm recently using macintosh and have had this problem since i installed the msn messenger, once i'm logged in i start chatting as usual, but after some time, i stop getting any replies and 2 or 3 minutes after that i get a message saying the connection has been lost, but i still hace everything else workin as usual.
I think it might be a firewall problem or something like that, anyone has had a similar problem or have a suggestion of what to do?
Im on an G3 imac 350, os x 10.3.9 512RAM

i had the same problem. even after i went to 10.4. so i decided to goto ms's site and make sure i had the lasted version of messenger. i didn't (it was version 4) so i downloaded the latest (version 5) and installed it after deleting the older one and all its prefs and any other files related to it. and now i don't have any problems.
 
i do have the latest version, and as i have an imac 350 im stuck with 10.3.9 unless i install some additional stuff, but i think its ok this way, so any other suggestion?
