Three of us share a G5 with OSX 10.4.2. we each have our own user area and password.
Each of us uses itunes for personal collections of music and we would like to share these but retain our own personal libraries.
I had a similar need for iphoto and by using iphotobuddy, I created shared libraries that we put in the shared user folder.
I can't work out how to do the same trick in itunes. When I moved the libraries to the shared folder, the software re-established them in the original user folders. I can make a link using "add library" but the link is only active if the other account is logged in. Even when the link is active and the other user's library is available the ipod won't download it. Instead there is a dialogue box asking to delete the current library and load the new linked library instead. What I want of course is both.
There is a way of sorting this - isn't there
