Multi-session in Toast?

I burnt 400mb onto a CD-R and selected write session on the record dialog. How do I carry that on?

In Nero in windows, I insert the CD and Nero scans it (usefully detecting any changes in the files) and lets me carry on with the remaining space.

What's the equivalent in Toast?

With Toast, when you push the record button it will come up with another window that gives you two options "Write Disc" or "Write Session". Write disc will close the disc allowing nothing else to be burnt, write session will leave the disk open to write more later.

My bad, It wasn't allowing me the first time because it kept saying the disc was full. I did select write session first time as well. Never mind, works now.

Still, is there a way to have toast check a directory for new files? On Windows I would just drag my downloads directory to the CD and when I went to burn later, it would add the new additon to my download folder, to the CD.

If toast can't do this, is there another app that can?

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly but I think you are referrring to packet writing which is (to my understanding) only possible on windows. If you add to a cd on a mac it will show up as a seperate volume.

No, not packet writing, I mean multi session. When I made a first backup, it probably wouldn't fill the CD. When I went to add some more from my "Documents" folder nero read the CD and saw where the files came from, it them scanned to see if there was any additions to the "Documents" folder and automatically added them ready to be burnt.

That way to make backups, all I had to do was put a CD in each week or so and nero would burn the newest files only onto the CD.

I use Easy CD Creator on the PC and I know what you mean. When you insert a CD it automatically imports all previous sessions into your new layout that you are going to burn and you can add new files to the existing directory structure.

On OS X with Toast try and think of it this way
Lets say that disc that you burned with the one session holds 650 mb. You burned 400 mb onto it already.

650 - 400 = 250
You really only have a 250 mb CD left. Just think of it as being completely blank 'cause you can't add anything to any other session.
