Anyone out there have an XLR8 MACh Velocity Dual processor setup in a beige G3? Are both processors working in 10.1.x?
I haven't been able to get a stable dual processor configuration. XLR8 Mach Speed Control will sometimes recognize both procs, but when it does, the system, though speedy, is never more than a few minutes away from a kernel panic. I've had to switch to L2CacheConfig, because it never tries to activate the second proc and therefore never enters super-unstable-mode.
XLR8's press releases and online support (such as it is) are vague on the topic of dual processors in 10.1.x. Some places say to wait for the 3.0 update (to be released in "october"). Others seem to imply that 2.6.1 is 10.1.x ready.
Has anyone actually gotten this working in a stable fashion? Mail to XLR8 tech support asking for some clarification on multiprocessor support is never answered... Has anyone asked the same question and actually gotten a reply?
Does anyone anywhere know anything about anything??
