music and ipod

hi.. i downloaded a cd on my puter but it wont download on my ipod?...i have done it before.. maybe i missed a step....can anyone please help......thank you

What do you mean "downloaded a cd?" Did you "rip" a CD using iTunes? Did you copy the tracks off of a CD directly onto your computer using the Finder? Ddi you download the music from the internet? Please elaborate.

Most of the time, if your iPod will not correctly receive audio files from iTunes, that means that the audio files are in a format that is incompatible with the iPod -- what format are your audio files in? MP3? AAC? AIFF? WAV? Apple Lossless? OGG? FLAC?
 
i have a cd that i bought its an old one and i downloaded it to my itunes library and when i updated my ipod only one song appeared on my ipod.
the cd is abba.....so just the song dancing queen is on my ipod but.. when i tried it again to download it on my itunes...it did the same now i have 2 sets of the song in my library but only the one song on my ipod? i have downloaded songs before and this never happened before?..... ok for some reason the songs are going in the trash......and i have no idea how it gets there??. when i ownload my cds i hit the import on my itunes....now maybe im doing something wrong??... thanks for being patient with be.......cleo
 
its set up automatically....maybe i need the steps to put the cd in my itunes library so i can then make a play list......thanks for your help.......cleo
