music mixes for store/restaurant

I've been looking at itunes and other websites but I am trying to find some already mixed up music for a new retail store and restaurant I'll be opening up soon. In the itunes store there is one imix called backyard bar-b-que and tiki bar or something like that. Those are the kinds of things I'm looking for not per say that kind of music but mixes that can be played as background music for businesses and stores. So, lets say I'm opening up a outback or western sizzler restaurant i would be looking for a country mix up medley of about 20 or 30 songs that I could play. Yes, I could probably turn to a country station but then people have to deal with commercials and you really want to keep the words out of it just the melody. Of course I am not going to be opening up a western bar but would like to see a few thousand different options as to different imixes. If anyone knows of a good medly of American music a little bit americana a little spanish flair a little carribean. Let's say Key West meets Boston or Hawaii meets Philadelphi PA without words just great tunes... any ideas???

I would really like it if I had a choice to stream different itunes tunes for 9 bucks a month that I could then pay apple and then broadcast over my airtunes. That way new music would be coming in commercial free. What would be cooler if apple would allow you to say every 5 minutes or what ever interval between or during songs input your message for your store... almost as if you were the one broadcasting... so if you had a gym or fast food restaurant you wouldn't have to worry about having competing stores broadcasting on the network. I would pay 20 to 30 bucks a month for that.

Only problem with that would be that I can't program my own music. Plus I wouldn't be able to program in specific points that I could promote items within my store. This sounds like commercial free radio. I'm basically looking for pull streaming with additional benefits.

Though I'm still trying to find the right mix of music. Like Zydeco meets American Patriotic Big Band March... I need to find a CD where July 4th Meets Mardi Gras

I would suggest that you look into some service which specifically targets piped in music. The biggest reason is that you have to pay ASCAP to play music in a retail environment and the do have people who go around to catch you and bill you. They are not very friendly about it if you cross the line. The problem with pulling things off an iMix is that that music is not licensed for public performance.

Hell, even if you just turn on a radio station in your store, you have to pay royalties for that, too. Your best bet is uh... whatever somebody else said. 'Cause whatever music you play in a store or restaurant, you have to pay royalties for it in one way or another.
