i've been using this mouse since about last april, and ive had this problem for around 3 months. whenever the led turns red i stick it in the charger, but it still blinks red in the charger! i move it around a bit while its sitting thre till its tilted a bit, and then th green charge light goes on. now it seems like it wont even charge. the life on an overnight charge is pathetic too...its like a day and a half. i dunno what to do. should i try replacement batteries? i dont think thattle solve the non charge on the base station. should i call logitech and ask for a new one? how long is their warranty?

thanks in advance...

Some info about the MX700 from Logitech web site:

Try replacing the batteries with two AA nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries that are rated between 1500-2300 mAh.* Warning:* do NOT try to use any other batteries to charge the mouse.* This means that the mouse must never be put on the Rapid Charge Base Station while equipped with any batteries other than the NiMH batteries.

Also, if you are using the mouse on a dark surface, try using it on a white sheet a paper.* Dark surfaces for the optical sensor to work harder, thus draining the batteries faster.

If using a different surface and changing the batteries does not correct the issue, your device may be defective.*

I have the same mouse and use a black surface, never have a problem. Had the mouse since it came out. I'd try the batteries. I don't know how long it will actually last without recharging, I usually put it in the charger every few days.
