Hi,
I have an iMac running 10.5.2 with 4 external drives, including two TeraByte My Book drives connected via Fire Wire. Whenever I restart my iMac, one My Book mounts perfectly while the second, which I use for Time Machine, does not mount. Disk Utility cannot locate the non-mounted My Book. If I manually unplug the drive from power and the two Fire Wire data cables and reconnect, then the drive will mount and work perfectly. In an attempt to solve this problem, I have reformatted the external hard drive which has had no effect.
I have contacted Western Digital's email tech support and they have replied first that the drive is not compatible with the Mac OS and then later that it is compatible but that they don't know much about Macs.
Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Spike2000
