My Dock Went away

Hey im new to macs just bought a black macbook and i love the thing but i had an update it went thru and installed everything and now my dock isnt there i also can not change my wallpaper or nething tried using the terminal app but it wont let me type in a command eveything runs fine i just have to keep my icons on the desktop like my old Windows Pc BOOO please help
 
Duque--go To System Prefs>dock>prefs. Views See If Box Is Ckd. For Hide Dock. Ck Also Show And Hide Dock Automatically. Ck. Other Prefs On Viewing And How You Want Them. Hope I Have Helped A Little.

Wallpaper?
Do you mean your Desktop Background?
Open your System Preferences, then Desktop & Screen Saver, and choose a different background, or choose one of your own...
