My finder has gone crazy

Now it seems that everything is working except for the finder. After login and the finder starts up there seems to be a quirk because the finder will load up to the point where you can see the background but will then reload. It's like a never ending cycle... in fact it's doing it right now. If anyone has any insight or theories to what the hell might be going I would really appreciate it.

Thanks JOSH but the ibook will not be helping the situation at all. My finder is still bugging out on me so if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to help out.
