hi all!

i'm having severe trouble mith my mac after upgrading to 10.2.5. every now and then it panics, and a grey screen with a warning in five languages appears telling me to restart. when i try and restart the machine crashes immediately. now it won't stop crashing the startup sequence for a long time. eventually everything works again and i can continue my work untill the mac crashes again.

i've tried a lot of different approaches to correct the problem, but i still haven't got it right. what to do?

Run a check on permissions from the X install CD first. I use Norton to check my partitions, so some thord party app is needed.

no, you can't be in that system, you need to boot from a CD, or have software on another partiton that can do the same. But the permission check has to be ran from the install CD.

hm. i guess i need an external drive, then... or maybe the old drive will do what it used to be so good at. if the gods are good...
