HI! I am a newbie to macs.. and would appreciate ANY info about them..
I got this old mac from my brother it is a Powerbook G4 15" running
OS X ver.10.3.9, 1GHZ power pc G4, 256 MB DDR SDRAM.
Would it help to upgrade to tiger or leopard? I tried to play a basic game on facebook and it said I needed to upgrade the adobe flashplayer, which I tried and failed. I have installed other things such as Camino without any problem.

and.. my second question is...
How can I safely clean it up?

Thanks!

Tiger would be the best on that (going up to 10.4.11). Plus the maxim RAM into that device will make the OS X on that Mac go faster. RAM is cheap right now. Just go to /Applications/Utilities/System Profiler and see what version of PowerBook that is then go over to Crucial.com to find the best most compatible RAM.

thanks for the link.. I will get the extra ram.. any suggestions as to where I can get a copy of Tiger? Why is it so expensive compared to leopard? At least it is on ebay.

Because Apple doesn't and hasn't sold Tiger since Leopard came out. Your system meets the requirements for Leopard, except for RAM, but that's easily remedied. I'd go for Leopard with maxing out the RAM. It may run a little slower than if it was running Tiger, but I imagine when 10.6 is released next month, support for Tiger is going to start dropping like crazy and you'll be right back in the boat you are in now.
