My new OSX game!

Holmes

Humble God
Hey everybody, I've been programming a game called Raptor lately. It is carbon so it runs in OSX and OS9. Raptor is a top down scrolling game in the arcade style like Diemos rising, however, its biggest influence is an old DOS game called Raptor-Call of the shadows. The game derrives its name from your plane, which is an F-22 Raptor. Anyway...I've been working really hard on it so I thought I'd post some screenshots. Later I will post a link for downloads of beta builds (not quite to beta yet). So take a look:

BTW, the program I'm using to make it is called TNT Basic, its a great tool for anyone who wants to make a game and BASIC isn't too difficult even if you've never programmed before.

Looks very promising, congratulations on the effort so far. Please keep us posted on its progress.

Just out of curiosity, where have you got your artwork? Looks pretty cool.

I made all the artwork myself actually. The planes were drawn in Macromedia Flash first because vectors are easier to deal with than pixels, then I took a screenshot and from that put the finishing touches in adobe photoshop. The clouds / trees / ground were done in Bryce. Then an image mask for each graphic was done in adobe photoshop for anti-aliasing and transparency. The image mask really improves the look of the graphics.
