My remote will not work on my imac g5

I just bought my first mac, one of the new imac g5's with the digi cam built in and after fooling around on it after a day I must have done something since the remote that comes with it does not work anymore. Its a great little tool for itunes since I dont have to close a window and open up itunes just to fast forward/pause, etc...

Any help would be appreciated for this mac noob.
 
You made sure the batteries aren't dead right? I know it seems unexpected but maybe something was laying on the buttons for a long period of time.

Also you didn't put any thing over the apple logo on the iMac did you, I swear I saw somewhere that is where they stuck the receiver. Not 100% on that one though.
 
that's correct - the infrared receiver is behind the Apple logo on the front of the iMac, and that would need to be uncovered. That brings up the good point: the remote is visual line-of-sight. It is not an RF remote like some are. It has to 'see' the iMac...
