My Safari & Macromedia applications just stopped working

I have a Powerbook 1.5 with version 10.3.7

Today Safari stopped displaying Flash content (it just displays white where the flash movie is). The newest version of the plug-in is installed. After a restart I found that none of my Macromedia applications (Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver) would launch. It just does nothing when you click them so I tried to re-install, but that doesn't work either. It asks me for my keychain password, which is right as I just reset it to double check, and then stops and says I need administrative or higher access. My account is the administrator so I really don't understand.

Anyone one ever have a problem like this? Got any tips or tricks for me to try? I'm totally stumped and have no idea what to do now.

Thanks

Did you do the usual round of troubleshooting procedures, like repairing permissions and booting from the install CD and repairing the hard drive?

I just installed Macromedia Studio MX (academic version) on a PB 17, 1.5ghz, and having a similar, thought not as bad, problem with Flash unexpectedly quitting. Installed the updated from Macromedia.Did everything but restart with the install disc.

Ready to rip my hair out.

Just wanted to let you know you're not alone.
