Perhaps when you started your computer your clock was incorrectly set, and when you fixed it, it looked like you'd been up for years.

Anyone else notice that the new epoch for time in OS X is January 1, 2001? At least for NSDate...

That is over 31 years, which would be about the default start date for most Unix systems. I would consider getting a replacement battery.

(I believe for Unix the start date was set at either 1969 or 1970, for the Classic OS it is 1904 for some reason )
