Need help configuring my DSL modem connection

Hi, well, I need help.

This is what I know:
I connect via Ethernet, and the configuration has to be set mannualy. So not trough DHCP or something. And the protocol is PPTP. I think this is all you need to know to help me. Could someone tell me (clear, I really am not the technician) how I configure this is Sytem Prefs's Network?
And if you're really, really, really nice, you could always send me a pic of the configurations in X (with my specs I listed above of course) so I can where I click and what I have to do. Thanks very much in advance to anyone that can help me.
 
We-ell. That's just too few info "I need to connect manually". What info did your ISP give you ? Username and password ? Did he give you an IP ?
(You don't have to give me the username/password of course. Just need to know what your ISP told you, if anything). What ISP do you use ?
 
DSL Modem works with the PPoE Protocole.
Your provider gave you your username and Password
just fill the info in the PPPoe Tab inside the Built-in Ethernet
of the Network Preference Pane.

You might have to turn off your modem once or twice once you did that..

make sure to check the Box "Show PPPoE status in menu bar"
so you can connect directly from the menu bar
it will be located at the right of the hour at the top of your screen
with a little icon that looks like this <...>
(dots are suppose to be in the middle not the buttom)
