I recently installed OS X on my G3 Mac.The Software restore cd’s didn’t work so I do not have OS 9(classic) installed.

I have Director MX and I need to open a Director 8 file but don’t know how without OS9, what can I do.(sorry, question mark doesn’t seem to work, but thats another problem:rolleyes:).

Is there anyway for me to open this on my computer. I have a job interview on Monday and need to edit my portfolio. :(

Any help is appreciated.

Put your first restore CD in the drive, reboot while holding the 'C' key down. That should boot your iMac to the restore CD. Then choose to restore WITHOUT ERASING the present software. There may also be a choice to reinstall only OS 9, which is what you really need, I think. Again, do that with the choice to install without erasing. If you do the full restore without erasing, then you may need to reinstall OS X (if your system ORIGINALLY came with OS X as well as OS 9)

Doesn't it convert them to MX files? Well I see I have Director 8.5 for Classic, so maybe thats why my old files converted.
