need to resize pic

dont seem to have iphoto, need to resize the picture ive got.. its 2MB, no idea how to make it smaller cos i wanna upload it to a site

Use Preview. Open picture in Preview. In the Tools Menu, you will find "Adjust Size...".

I use this all the time. You can also save it in a different format if you need to.

Preview is great at basic stuff like this and few even know it can do more than just view images and pdf. If you ever want a lot more editing capability but without shelling out hundreds for photoshop give Pixelmator a try. Normally costs about 40-50. iPhoto is good for organizing photos but Pixelmator is much more edit/filter capable.
