I got 2 problem

1. I'm new to NetInfo and Unix so i try to install NetInfo on a Server 10.1.4 for all my users to log on any computer (3xG4) and all theirs setting (desktop, prefs, printer, etc...) can follow them. When i'm setting NetInfo on my server i can't create user for NetInfo. The only time it seem to work it when i put LOCALHOST for the DNS name of my Server. We are connected to the internet via a DSL modem and we got a router and a no-ip.com adress. But when i try with the DNS name LOCALHOST on my server everything seem to screw up on my client workstation, the client don't find the users home folder on the right place and nothing works. When i try with any other DNS name nothing work on the server, my NetInfo Network don't exist... i missing something or i do something wrong ???

2. i try to print a postscript file for transfert it on my Viper RIP but when i choose this option for printing to file nothing come out

Help me please ;) thanks

Can't help ya with #2.

However, maybe you should try using strictly-ip addresses in your netinfo configuration. (eg, 192.168.1.203 instead of CLIENT203, or whatever).

I'm not exactly clear on what your doing, so if my answer is completely off base, let me know :)

thanks for your help.

My problem is very simple ... when i'm installing my server, it ask me for a DNS name ... but like i'm said i'm behind a firewall with a DSL modem so i got a adress like 192.168.0.2 ... but i don't have a static adress for the internet ... the server DON'T take any coma or underscore or space in that DNS name ... it impossible to put 192.168.0.2 when he asked me ... and when i put a name like CLIENT, my netinfo manager doesn't recognize my server as a parent ... the only name that work is LOCALHOST but it seem to screw up my client ...

in other word ... i'm wondering if it is posible to have a netinfo parent with a dynamic ip adress and how to do it ?

Thanks
