network connection issue?

I am tried of having to go to connect to server each time I need to connect to a machine on the network, so I did some searching in the forums and found out that someone said when the network drive is mounted drag it into the start up items and click add password to keychain that way it will not ask you everytime for a password to connect to a machine.

I have tried this but when I restart it always asks me for a password to connect to the machine, is this a kechain bug, can I trash the keychain pref or I think its because every machines password has been set as blank passwords, could this be the reason?

Help would be appreciated!, thanks

If the password is blank, then Keychain won't store it!

If you're the network admin, I'd recommend assigning passwords, ESPECIALLY if its a Windows share. Windows shares that aren't well protected with good passwords are prone to attack from Windows viruses.

Easiest way would be to make an alias of your network mounted volume. Anytime you double click the alias, you will be connected without any request for login and password. Very easy and simple.

Like Zammy said, use an alias. Put a folder on your drive for aliases. Drag any mounted volume to that folder. Drag that folder to your dock for easy access. Then just Control, or Right click the folder to mount any drives in there.
