network drives disconnect after awakening from sleep

does anyone know how to stop OSX from disconnecting network drives after awakening from a sleep? The network is a wireless airport network, so it takes a second or two to reconnect, meanwhile it scans does not see the drives right away, and always disconnects them. Any way to set a delay before discoonecting to let the airport catch up?

That thread does not really answer the problem. I would think that an advanced OS like OSX could have a delay when waiting for a network to re-register after sleeping. I DO want my blast furnace (dual 2.5 G5) to sleep once in a while to cool the room down. However, I hate having to constantly log back into my SMB shares.
Crappy ole Windoze does not log me out, so there must be a way to keep OSX from doing it
