Network icon has disappeared

Hi,

My network icon has disappeared in Finder when I click on the Computer name. The word "Network" is still there and I can click on it, but the picture itself is gone.

The icon does appear in the sidebar, but not in the right-hand pane where drives, files etc appear

When I click on the label and Get Info, there is no picture, and I cannot drag the image I downloaded from the Apple Extreme Base Station web page, as I only have read permission to the icon...

Is there a fix?

Many thanks.

I have exactly the same problem, but on a G4 tower. OS 10.3.9.
At about the same time this started, a similar problem occured: the G4 is hooked to a network via ethernet; on the network is a Mac OS server; when I switch on my G4 and click on Finder, it automatically go to the network to log on, but doesn't actually let me do so and I have to restart. Basically I need to unplug the ethernet cable, start the G4, click on Finder, replug the ethernet cable and then connect to the network. Very annoying.
