I am the law!
i'm in an office that is 100% Windows. We have about 30 printers, all of which have dedicated servers in our server room for print spooling.

Does anyone know how I might go about setting up one of these network printers in 10.3?

Does the driver for the actual printer need to be installed on the Mac? Or do I just need to tell it where the print server is?

I'm a bit confused as to how this process works.
 
You should be able to set up an IP Printing situation. Choose IP Printing from the list of "Add" options then, choose the DNS name or IP address of the spooler, ask your administrator what the queue name of the printer is, and put that in when you set up IP printing. Check out the picture to see what i'm talkin about. The type of printer should be set on there also.
