Network Weirdness: "nameofserver-1"

Hi all,

just a quick question to see if this has happened to anybody else. For some reason, even though its been working fine for a while, whenever I mount a server volume on one of my machines, it mounts just fine ... but with a "-1" after the name of the server.

This isn't impeding any function, or breaking any aliases, but its really annoying. I'm new to Unix, but I noticed that there are two entires in my /Volumes directory, one normal-name, and one with the "-1" after it.

Any guesses?

It's been a while since I last saw this problem, but the solution is reasonably simple. Have a look at this thread and let us know if it helps.
