Networked Macs don't appear in Finder

I have two Macs running 10.4.8 on a wireless network. Clicking the Network icon on my G4 Powerbook shows the G5 iMac, but on the iMac, the Powerbook does not appear. I can connect from iMac to Powerbook using the 'Connect to Server' command and inputting the IP address, but as the IP is dynamic, that's a pain. Sharing options are identical on both. Any ideas why the iMac is not showing other Macs on the network? Thanks in advance....

How is your network setup? Does everybody else on the network wired or wirlessly connected directly to the router/access point?

Thanks but problem seems to have resolved itself now. No idea why but everything's back to normal.
