Recently returned from Africa with my g4 desktop computer. There, I connected to internet using my cell as a bluetooth modem.
Back in the US now. Tried connecting through the cable modem (System prefs/Network/Automatic/built in Ethernet/) but no luck.
Not even able to find other devices on the network, like my Imac. There is no light on the corresponding port of the router but there is for the Imac.
I was able to network to the Imac with bluetooth dongles in each machine but not able to get onto the internet from the g4.
Do I need to replace the ethernet power supply or an airport card?
Any suggestions?
The g4 is running 10.4.8 and has not been updated 8 or 10 months due to the lousy internet connection and large file size there in Africa. Thanks in advance.
